Mini partial vs partial vs full partial: what you actually get

Purple and grey partial fursuit with puffy paws by Fursuit Hub

“Partial” covers a lot of ground. Depending on who you ask, it can mean a head and paws, or nearly a full suit with your own clothes over it. Here’s what each term usually means, what our packages include, and how to pick.

Mini partial: head, paws, tail

A mini partial is the smallest set that still reads as your character from head to fingertips. You wear it with your own clothes and shoes. Our heads are lined and have 3D follow-me eyes as standard (2D on request). Paws are toony / puffy with minky pads.

Good for: characters who wear an outfit, people who want to stay cool on long con days, and people who want shoes they can walk in all day.

Partial: head, paws, feet, tail

A partial adds feet. Feet change the silhouette more than you might think: with them, the character is visible from the ground up even when you’re wearing jeans and a hoodie. Ours come with indoor or outdoor soles, so you can choose what suits where you’ll wear them.

Good for: photos and meets where people see your whole outline, and characters whose look depends on big toony feet.

Full partial: more coverage, no full body

“Full partial” isn’t a fixed standard. Most makers mean a partial plus arm sleeves, leg sleeves or both, so less of your own skin or clothing shows. Some people also talk about a “3/4 suit”, which usually means a furred body without the legs. Because the terms vary, always ask the maker what their package includes before you compare prices.

We don’t list a full partial as a package. If you want sleeves or extra coverage, choose “Partial” on the quote form and describe what you want in the notes. We’ll tell you whether we can quote it. If you want everything covered, a fullsuit is the cleaner option.

How to choose

  • Think about how you’ll wear it. Mostly at cons with your own outfit? A mini partial or partial is lighter and cooler than a fullsuit.
  • Think about what your character wears. If they have a signature outfit, a partial lets you wear it over your own clothes.
  • Think about your feet. If you want to walk all day in normal shoes, choose a mini partial. If you want the character’s feet in photos, choose a partial.
  • Plan upgrades early. Many people add feet or a body later. Say so in your first quote so we can plan the materials and color matching.
  • Compare like with like. Check whether a price is labor only or includes fur, and what “partial” means on that price list. Our fursuit cost guide explains what drives the number.

FAQ

What is a mini partial fursuit?

A mini partial is a head, hand paws and a tail. It’s worn with your own clothes and shoes. At Fursuit Hub it’s a standard package.

What is the difference between a mini partial and a partial?

Feet. A mini partial is head, paws and tail. A partial adds feet: head, puffy paws, feet and tail.

What is a full partial?

Most makers use “full partial” for a partial plus arm sleeves, leg sleeves or both, so more of the body is covered. Definitions vary between makers. It isn’t a standard package on our price list, so describe the coverage you want in the quote notes.

Can I upgrade a mini partial later?

Yes. You can commission feet or a body later. Say so in your first quote so we can plan materials and colors.
