How much does a fursuit cost in 2026?

Short answer: in 2026 a commissioned fursuit head typically costs roughly $900–$2,800, a partial $1,500–$4,500 and a fullsuit $3,000–$9,000+ (USD). Below: how those ranges break down, what “labor only” means, what sets the price, and what we charge.
Typical 2026 price ranges
These are approximate market ranges for a commissioned suit, based on publicly listed prices across the fursuit community in 2026. Every maker sets their own prices, so treat them as a rough guide rather than a quote.
| Suit type | Typical range (USD) |
|---|---|
| Head only | $900–$2,800 |
| Mini partial (head, paws, tail) | $1,500–$3,500 |
| Full partial (+ feetpaws) | $2,000–$4,500 |
| Plantigrade fullsuit | $3,000–$6,000 |
| Digitigrade fullsuit | $4,000–$9,000+ |
Approximate, checked October 2026. Newer makers often charge less and the most in-demand makers charge more. Starting prices also differ in what they include — some include a set amount of fur, others (like ours) are labor only.

Compare like with like: what “labor only” means
Our prices are labor — the cost of the work itself. Some makers’ starting prices include a set amount of fur; ours don’t. On top of labor you should budget for:
- Fur and materials — depends on your colors, fur type and quantity.
- VAT — may apply depending on where you live.
- Shipping and insurance — a fursuit is bulky and valuable, so insure it.
- Customs and duties — if the suit crosses a border. These are paid by the buyer. See buying a fursuit internationally.
The three things that set the price
1. Coverage. A head alone is the smallest commission. A mini partial adds paws and a tail; a partial adds feet; a fullsuit adds a full bodysuit made to your measurements. Every extra part is more patterning, sewing and fitting time. Not sure which? Read partial vs fullsuit.
2. Complexity. Two characters of the same species can be priced very differently. Markings, number of colors, hair, horns, extra expressions and special builds (like skull heads or protogens) all add hours.
3. Build style. For fullsuits, digitigrade legs (shaped with padding) take more work than a straight-legged plantigrade body — you can see that gap in the ranges above. See digitigrade vs plantigrade.
Commission, premade or DIY?
- Commission — built for your character and your measurements. The prices above apply.
- Premade — ready-made suits ship sooner but won’t match your character. They aren’t automatically cheap: premade partials range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars.
- DIY — materials for a fullsuit can run several hundred dollars or more, and the build takes hundreds of hours of work.
Don’t forget the time
Price isn’t the only cost. A handmade suit takes months to build, and fullsuits take longer than partials, plus any queue before your slot starts. If you need a suit for a specific convention, start early. At Fursuit Hub, quotes usually come back in about a week with a timeline — see how our process works.
How to get an accurate number
The only reliable price is a quote for your character. Send your ref sheet, species, colors and the type of suit through the quote form (here’s how to prepare a ref sheet). If spreading the cost helps, the form lets you pick “Monthly installment” as your budget option.
Ways to make your budget go further
- Start with a head or mini partial and add parts later.
- Simplify markings where your character allows it — fewer colors usually means fewer hours.
- Be clear up front. A complete ref sheet avoids surprises in the quote.
- Be wary of prices far below the ranges above — see how to commission safely and how to choose a maker.
